Financial Minds is a brand under Mueni Management Consulting. Central to the vision and mission of the platform is having interactive conversations between financial reporting experts and finance teams aimed at understanding the ‘why’ behind financial reporting, leadership and sustainability guidance.

My career began at Big 4 audit firm PwC where I spent extensive stints at different offices; South Africa, Indonesia, London and Australia. After a cumulative ten years at the firm, I joined Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation as a contract consolidation accountant where I worked for just under 1 year before discovering my passion for teaching.

I began my career at a mid-tier audit firm where I completed my articles in 2016. I qualified as a SAICA chartered accountant the following year. I joined Mueni Management Consulting as a manager thereafter and have specialised in the preparation of financial statements and assisting the Managing Director with preparation of other reports.

A PASSION FOR FINANCIAL REPORTING& LEADERSHIP EXCELLENCE

‘My career began at the sixth largest accounting network RSM where I was appointed Technical Partner in 2009.

In 2013, I left the firm to form Mueni Management Consulting and this entrepreneurship endeavour led to my recognition as a finalist in the SA Institute of Chartered Accountants Top 35 under 35. In 2016, I joined IASeminars presenting IFRS Training internationally in various locations including London and Dubai.

In 2018, I joined W.consulting as a Senior IFRS Consultant and obtained a Masters of Commerce Accounting Specialisation from Wits University the same year.

In 2019, I received accreditation from Johannesburg Stock Exchange to be an IFRS Advisor to listed entities . I subsequently wrote the books Masters of Money and The CEO X Factor.

My passion for financial reporting and leadership excellence led me to form Financial Minds in 2023.’

A SEASONED TRAINER WITH PERFECT SITUATIONAL DELIVERY

My career began at Big 4 audit firm PwC where I spent extensive stints at different offices; South Africa, Indonesia, London and Australia. After a cumulative ten years at the firm, I joined Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation as a contract consolidation accountant where I worked for just under 1 year before discovering my passion for teaching.

I served the higher education sector for five years until 2018 as a lecturer at Wits University and Tabladi Education. Whilst lecturing, I took the opportunity to deepen my knowledge of financial accounting by completing a Masters in Commerce in 2016.

From 2017, I was invited by IASeminars to present IFRS Training and have been presenting internationally in various locations including London, Dammam and Toronto.

In 2018, I joined listed company Omnia as a finance compliance manager and obtained valuable and insightful experience in all finance and investor-related functions for a multi-national listed company.

I have been an independent IFRS trainer and consultant since December 2020.

AN EXPERT AT CONSOLIDATION & AFS PREPARATION

I began my career at a mid-tier audit firm where I completed my articles in 2016. I qualified as a SAICA chartered accountant the following year. I joined Mueni Management Consulting as a manager thereafter and have specialised in the preparation of financial statements and assisting the Managing Director with preparation of other reports.

My core expertise lies in the ability to navigate Caseware to produce the desired financial statement reporting results within strict client timelines and within budget.

I have an interest in taxation and have assisted in the preparation of submission of corporate taxation returns for both small and medium-sized clients. Other software that I use efficiently and at an expert level include Sage and Microsoft Excel.

I take pride in producing quality reports for our clients.

The partners of Crowe Johannesburg have announced that Raakesh Khandoo has been unanimously chosen to take on the role of CEO. Since joining the firm in 2004, Raakesh has demonstrated unwavering commitment, completing his articles of clerkship, earning his chartered accountant qualification, and becoming a partner in 2008. He will assume the role of CEO, on the1st March 2025.
