Raakesh Khandoo elected CEO of Crowe Johannesburg

The partners of Crowe Johannesburg have announced that Raakesh Khandoo has been unanimously chosen to take on the role of CEO. Since joining the firm in 2004, Raakesh has demonstrated unwavering commitment, completing his articles of clerkship, earning his chartered accountant qualification, and becoming a partner in 2008. He will assume the role of CEO, on 1st March 2025.

Outgoing CEO Mark Watson expressed his gratitude to the team at Crowe Johannesburg for their support over the years.

‘I am proud of what we have achieved together, and I am confident that Raakesh will lead Crowe to even greater heights,’ Mark said.

Raakesh is a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience at Crowe South Africa, where he currently serves as a partner. Based in Sandton, Johannesburg, Raakesh has been instrumental in providing expert financial and business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients. His expertise spans across subsidiaries of multinational corporations, family-owned enterprises, large non-listed entities, and high-net-worth individuals. With Crowe being one of the top 10 international accounting firms, Raakesh plays a pivotal role in helping companies navigate the complexities of doing business across borders, leveraging his deep understanding of both local and international markets.

Raakesh’s academic foundation is solidly built on his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Rhodes University, which was soon followed by earning the Chartered Accountant (SA) designation. His education, combined with his extensive professional experience, has equipped him with the skills and insights necessary to address the varied challenges faced by his clients. Raakesh’s long-standing commitment to Crowe South Africa and his ability to deliver tailored solutions have made him a trusted advisor in the accounting and finance industry.
